The Government plans to remove a requirement for private sector firms to give new recruits working on local authority contracts the same terms and conditions as employees transferred from the public sector.
The Cabinet Office confirmed to LTT that it wants to withdraw the so-called ‘two-tier code’ introduced by the previous Government that extended the protection offered to employees transferred under TUPE (Transfer of Undertakings Protection of Employment’) to new recruits.
