Motorists see buses as poor value

What I have to agree with Steven Stewart that Stagecoach bus fares in urban areas are frequently cheaper than those charged by other bus operators in the UK. However, the fare-paying passenger will compare the cost of the bus fare with the saving he will make by leaving his car at home.

When motorists choose to travel by bus, they frequently have to pay more than 30p per mile but save less than 20p per mile by leaving their car at home plus any parking charges. In making value for money...
