Cyclops car share system

A system has been developed to enforce car sharing lanes. ‘Cyclops’ — the brainchild of Professor John Tyrer, a mechanical engineer in laser technology at Loughborough University — can detect how many people are in car.

The Cyclops system is 90% to 95% accurate in identifying vehicle occupancy, compared with just 40-50% for manual observation enforcement, said Tyrer.
