French state railway SNCF is to pilot smart cards with USB connectivity which will allow users to plug the cards into their home computers, visit the SNCF website and top up their funds. The pilot of the system, called Weneo ID Smart, is part of the SNCF’s entry into contactless payment. The pilot will take place in four regions of France and if well received, it may be expanded nationwide in 2010....
