A rift within the transport planning profession was exposed this week over how to respond to concerns about man-made climate change.
In a letter to LTT, Mike Slinn, the president of the Institution of Highways and Transportation, said travel was good for social and economic reasons and that seeking to reduce road traffic should not be"a first priority in the climate change debate".
