The Institution of Highways and Transportation is to consult members on plans to apply for a Royal Charter.
“We’ve been thinking about it for ages,” IHT chief executive Mary Lewis told LTT. “It’s a status thing more than anything else – it says that what our members do is vital for the country. It changes the feel of the place.”
