Barrage plan could provide new cross-Severn transport link

The Government is to study the possibility of a new transport link between South West England and South Wales as part of a wider investigation of building a barrage across the Severn Estuary.

Business and enterprise secretary John Hutton this week announced that the Government is to undertake a multi-million pound feasibility study into the possibility of constructing an energy-generating barrage.
