Aviation industry fights back against environmental fears

A coalition of the aviation industry, aviation trade unions and tourism bosses is to launch a new lobby group to promote flying amid growing concern that people are being put off flights by environmental concerns.

Flying Matters will be chaired by former CBI director general Sir Digby Jones, and its vice chair will be former Labour energy minister Brian Wilson. Organisations backing the group include airport operator BAA, airlines British Airways, EasyJet and Virgin Atlantic, aerospace...
