Gatwick’s second runway advances

Gatwick Airport’s owners have confirmed plans to prepare a planning application to bring its existing standby northern runway into routine use, creating a two-runway airport. 

The proposal would see the northern standby runway used for smaller departing aircraft by the mid-2020s.
