The London Borough of Sutton, Transport for London, and the Sutton and Merton NHS Trust have teamed up to encourage residents to walk and cycle more often. Patients who could benefit from more exercise will be directed to the Active Steps scheme by their local GP or health practitioner. During a 12-week programme the patients will meet with a specially trained NHS advisor who will set goals, issue cycle maps and send weekly messages of support by text or email....
