Humax EV Charging will work with Rightcharge to deliver more transparent and scalable home charging solution for UK fleets.
The agreement will see the Humax MX7 EV charger integrated with the Rightcharge payments platform to create a unified ecosystem for business charging at home.
The Humax MX7 charger was developed for fleet use. It features intelligent vehicle identification meaning it can recognise each EV’s unique ID through ISO 15118-compliant PLC technology, ensuring that only authorised vehicles can initiate charging.
The system supports company cars, fleet vehicles and business-owned vehicles, while ensuring accurate reimbursement and full separation between business and personal use.
Rightcharge consolidates public, home and workplace charging into one HMRC-compliant monthly invoice. As a result, fleet managers have full visibility over costs, usage and carbon data, reducing administrative burden and supporting sustainability targets.
The partnership also seeks to deliver significant benefits for fleet drivers. Charging at home is substantially cheaper than public charging and avoids the time lost waiting at public charge points during working hours.
Traditional home EV charging reimbursement often relies on estimates or trust-based reporting, leaving businesses exposed to ‘grey’ charging costs where personal vehicles may be charged on company accounts.
The Humax MX7 seeks to address this through vehicle identification using ISO 15118-compliant PLC technology. The charger recognises a vehicle’s unique ID as soon as it is plugged in.
If the vehicle does not match the registered company car, the Rightcharge platform can automatically ring-fence the cost or block the transaction. This ensures a clear separation between business and personal charging. As a result, fleets benefit from greater transparency, accuracy and control over home charging reimbursements.
Beyond fleet applications, the integration seeks to enhance security for private Humax MX7 owners. Through the Humax Charge app, users can enable a ‘registered-only’ charging mode that allows them to pre-authorise specific vehicles.
If an unrecognised vehicle is connected to the charger – for example, a neighbour’s car or an unauthorised user – the system can automatically block the charging session and notify the homeowner via their smartphone. This feature is designed to protect users against unauthorised energy use, while ensuring the charger remains a secure household asset.
The MX7 system means vehicle identification takes place at the charger level. This enables a wider mix of vehicles into the reimbursement ecosystem, rather than limiting participation to specific models. Fleet managers can therefore scale reimbursement programmes more easily across mixed fleets.
The MX7 is vehicle-to-grid ready. The V2G functionality requires collaboration between vehicle manufacturers, energy tariff providers and local grid operators. Availability of V2G may vary depending on region, vehicle compatibility and local infrastructure. Selling power back to the grid may require a software subscription.
Jeff Kim, president of Humax, said: “Together, Humax and Rightcharge are redefining how fleets manage EV charging – turning home charging from an administrative challenge into a controlled, transparent and cost-efficient solution.
“Suitable for organisations of all sizes, the Humax MX7 is an intelligent, V2G ready charging solution purpose-built for fleet operators. Our collaboration with Rightcharge extends access to efficient business charging reimbursement to a wider range of vehicles, addressing previous limitations caused by restricted vehicle data availability. As a result, more drivers and businesses can benefit from a streamlined, compliant and efficient approach to home charging.”
Charlie Cook, chief executive founder at Rightcharge, added: “Humax is a particularly special addition to the rapidly growing line up of Rightcharge compatible chargers. Both Rightcharge and Humax share a keen desire to unlock the true potential of electric fleets as revenue-generating assets. We are excited to explore the future of fleet electrification with Humax; from automatic vehicle detection to grid flexibility and V2G.”
