Today marks the start of the National Blue Badge Awareness Week 2026. Over the next five days, over local authorities, private parking operators and organisations across the UK will be coming together to help raise awareness of Blue Badge misuse and its impact on those who genuinely rely on accessible parking.
This year’s campaign, which builds on the success of last year’s Day of Action, aims to create the first coordinated national picture of Blue Badge use, misuse and enforcement activity across all parking environments.

The National Blue Badge Awareness Week is sponsored by National Blue Badge and supported by Landor LINKS' Parking Review magazine, Disabled Motoring UK (DMUK), Police CPI's Safer Parking Scheme, the British Parking Association (BPA), The International Parking Community (IPC) and civil enforcement association CIVEA.
Richard Boultbee, consultant to National Blue Badge, said: “We are delighted again to run this important campaign across the UK, it has grown from a day of action into an awareness week to help it grow bigger and better than ever. We also wanted to provide flexibility for those taking part to run their own local campaigns to boost awareness further.
“In addition to local authorities, we hope that as many private operators will take part this year to help highlight the situation on private land. There is still time to take part, register now and take part during this week.
“I will be speaking about to highlights at Parkex the following week and a full analysis will be presented at the Enforcement Excellence event in July, following this show all those organisation that feedback their results will receive a copy of the full report.
“We hope this will be the biggest gathering of Blue Badge usage data seen in the UK, and something we can all evidence and use to help us further improve the scheme.”
