Leading transport planners have welcomed a new ‘toolkit’ from the DfT’s appraisal and analysis team which offers guidance on how to address uncertainty in transport appraisal and modelling. But they say it is just the latest step in a journey away from definitive traffic forecasts to a much more open-minded and flexible approach to scheme analysis.
