Will the UK catch the BRT virus?

Reviewing the international scheme suggests that BRT has ‘gone viral’ in many countries, and Colin Brader, managing director of ITP, asks what needs to happen for the UK to go down a similar path

The severity of the ‘infection’ varies from place to place – all those affected show signs of (economic) recovery, although their experiences through the process of infection are mixed. To the observer of international activity it sometimes feels that new BRT systems in China appear as often as the bus headways those systems advocate. The USA is similarly seeing significant growth in systems and those cities with BRT seem to be expanding and improving.
