Linking together to protect and improve county’s links

Lincolnshire has beaten a path to a new, better integrated partnership in order to improve frontline highways services while keeping travel disruption to a minimum, Lee Baker hears


 

Lincolnshire has teamed up with May Gurney, Mouchel and Peek (traffic signals) to form an alliance to look after the county’s highway network.

The Lincolnshire Highways Alliance started work in April 2010, charged with the maintenance of around 9,000km of roads over a vast geographical area. The alliance’s East Division – one of four areas across the county covered by its own depot and area office – alone covers an area as big as Northamptonshire.
