Event to celebrate life of road safety academic Richard Allsop

A special event to celebrate the life and career of widely respected transport academic Richard Allsop is to be held at the UCL in London on 12 September.

Benjamin Heydecker, Emeritus Professor of Transport Studies, UCL said: “During his long career in Transport Studies, Richard Allsop influenced many colleagues, students, and people in the transport and related professions, and was renowned internationally for his wise and considerate advice. Beyond this, his analyses in road safety and policy based on this continues to benefit members of the public in many countries across the world in ways that are most often unbeknown to them.”

The Centre for Transport Studies at UCL is celebrating Richard Allsop’s contributions to academia and the transport profession. Colleagues and associates from around the world together with his family and friends will recall his research leadership and how he supported their career and personal development.
