The DfT has selected a College of Experts to offer scientific advice and identify areas of research interest.
The college, made up of 45 practitioners from academia and industry, is being created to “increase the department’s access to scientific networks, broaden its evidence base, identify key areas of research interest for the department, and bolster the provision of scientific advice”.
The experts will be managed by the DfT Science Advisory Council, the advisory non- departmental public body that provides expert independent advice on science policy and strategy to the department. The council is led by the DFT Chief Scientific Adviser Professor Sarah Sharples.
