Carbon rationing is what is needed, not carbon taxes

It is good to see (Feature LTT 27 Jul) that Stephen Norris is advocating eco-taxes, including higher taxes on air fares, to tackle climate change, which he acknowledges is "the most important challenge to the planet". But please let's note that Norris' approach is actually eminently big-money-friendly and will not much help the poor. The route to actually joining social justice to ecological sanity is via carbon rationing, not via carbon taxing. The rich and the big corporations can...
