More funding needed to cover rising cost of Brighton & Hove bus pass

Brighton & Hove Council has identified new funding sources to cover the rising cost of providing bus passes for elderly and disabled people. The council had negotiated a fixed deal for 2026/27 of about £11.3m with Brighton & Hove Buses.  But it found that an additional £1.5m was needed as the number of people qualifying for the free pass has increased.
