Nick Joyce is the new interim Chief Executive of National Highways, replacing Nick Harris who stepped down after five years in the role.
Joyce has extensive experience in transport, spending 20 years at the DfT where his roles included Director General Resources & Strategy; Acting Director General Rail Group; Acting Director General, Resources and Strategy Group; and Director Corporate Finance.
Gareth Rhys Williams, Chair of National Highways, said: “Nick brings a wealth of experience and expertise as we move into Road Period 3.”
“Nick will ensure we stay focused on delivering for road users and communities across England.”
The process to appoint a permanent Chief Executive is under way, while Joyce is in the interim role.
