Scottish councils face choice between 20mph or retaining enforcement cameras for 30mph

Scottish councillors appear to have faced a choice between retaining 30mph camera enforcement or reducing the limit to 20mph and losing the camera enforcement, correspondence released under Freedom of Information suggests.

When officers at East Dunbartonshire Council recommended reducing the limit to 20mph at Auchinaim Road, councillors asked what would happen to the average speed cameras there. Officers said normal practice would be to make the cameras dormant,  as had happened on Drymen...
