Government tables plans for penalty points and increased fines for motoring offences

Higher fines and penalty points for a range of offences including drink and drug driving, non-seat belt use and failure to stop and report incidents are proposed by the Government in a new consultation. The document also proposes new penalties  for driving with no current keeper, driving with incorrect, altered or number plates and driving with no current MOT.
