The Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) is seeking views to help inform future government policy on road signage for electric vehicle (EV) charging locations in England.
OZEV says clear and consistent signage is essential to ensuring drivers can confidently and safely undertake journeys, even when digital navigation tools are unavailable.
OZEV is calling on stakeholders to share their views and evidence on: the effectiveness and limitations of current signage policy; barriers faced in obtaining EV signage; the criteria for when signage is appropriate; and for EV hubs across the A-road and Strategic Road Network (SRN).
It is also asking for recommendations for a consistent approach to signage across all road types.
The OZEV is calling for those with an interest in electric heavy goods vehicles (eHGVs) and other relevant vehicles to fill out the section on the Strategic Road Network (SRN), which comprises motorways and trunk roads managed by National Highways.
There are also sections for local roads managed by local highways authorities and on-site signage at charging locations, such as motorway service areas and retail parks.
