In a surprise announcement, Nick Harris has said he will step down very shortly as chief executive of National Highways after five years at the helm of the government owned company. It said he will remain in post during “a short transition period” while the Board confirms temporary leadership arrangements, with a rapid recruitment process beginning shortly for an interim replacement.
