Boost for active travel, buses, EV and ferry users in Scottish budget

The Scottish Government has increased funding for active travel and bus infrastructure to £226m, up from £188.7m the previous financial year. This is among the transport announcements in the Scottish Government’s tax and spending plans.

Other allocations for 2026-27 include £85m in low carbon programmes including expanding public EV charging infrastructure and supporting zero-emission vehicles.
