Moto launches in-house ultra-rapid network

Moto Charge has entered the UK’s electric vehicle charging market. The motorway service area operator has is to develop own network featuring charging speeds of up to 400kW.

The launch of Moto Charge is a new strategy for Moto Hospitality, which has previously relied solely on third-party chargepoint operators (CPOs) like GRIDSERVE and Tesla to provide its charging bays. Moto confirmed these third-party CPOs will remain in place.

The inaugural Moto Charge site is now open at Toddington North services on the M1 motorway.

The in-house network will exclusively use ultra-rapid chargers. It is is utilising ABB A400 chargers capable of delivering charging speeds of up to 400kW.
