Councils across England have been allocated a total of £626m over the next four years to deliver 500 miles of new and upgraded active travel routes.
Revenue funding, covering the financial years 2026/27 to 2029/30, is expected to generate 170,000 ‘greener, more active trips’ every day.
The funding will support network planning and early scheme design plus community engagement and training activities.
