A third runway at Heathrow Airport would reverse recent improvements to air quality and cause “harmful” levels of noise pollution, the London Assembly Environment Committee has warned.
Expanding the airport would undermine both London and the UK’s climate goals, including the capital’s target for reducing fossil fuel emissions by 2030, it says.
