Sandeep Shingadia has been made Interim Executive Director of Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) following the departure of Anne Shaw, who is taking up a new role as Chief Executive of the National Transport Authority in Ireland (LTT923).
Shaw’s last working day is 14 November, and Shingadia will assume the interim role while a full recruitment exercise is undertaken to appoint to this post permanently.
Shingadia has been at TfWM for the past nine years, and has been Director of Development & Delivery for the past eight years.
Prior to joining TfWM he was Head of Strategic Development at West Midlands Integrated Transport Authority.
He spent 17 years at TfWM’s predecessor Centro (West Midlands) in a range of roles including Head of Scheme Development and Sustainability and Programmes Manager.
Shingadia has worked on a number of transport projects in the West Midlands including: building the business cases to enable the delivery of a number of metro extensions, including the Birmingham City Centre extension; leading on the development of the HS2 Connectivity Package to enable regional access to HS2 stations at Curzon Street and Birmingham Interchange; and leading on the West Midlands City Region Sustainable Transport Settlement fund.
