The Chancellor has been urged to reform a range of vehicle charges and duties in her forthcoming budget in a submission by a newly revived group seeking significant changes to transport-related taxation.
“Overall the system is surprisingly complicated, especially for HGVs, out of date and in many cases poorly related to government policies. It is however a major source of income for the Government,” their submission notes.
