Bus services remain substandard particularly in rural areas and the DfT’s funding for buses has been “short-term, fragmented and poorly targeted”, concludes a new report by Public Accounts Committee (PAC).
The Committee called on the DfT to give an update on its plans for longer-term, consolidated funding to the bus sector and to “explain when it will be able to detail its plans more fully”.
