Small increase in Welsh bus capital budget ahead of franchising

The Welsh Government has allocated almost £40m in bus capital funding for next year. This is a 29% increase, but the £40m could seem low in the context of the preparations needed for bus franchising to go live in South West Wales in 2027.

Bus industry sources expect the Government to purchase depots and vehicles, which franchise winners will use.
