Greater Cambridge Partnership (GCP) has dubbed a new cycle street the “first of its kind” in England. Adams Road in Cambridge will be redesigned to prioritise travel by bike and foot.
GCP said the route will be made safer and more accessible for everyone by addressing the existing risks posed by the current layout such as an over-crowded carriageway, narrow pavements and busy junctions.
Adams Road is used by more than 3,000 cyclists daily at peak times, GCP said.
