MSPs call for Highland Main Line enhancement alongside £3.7bn A9 programme

MSPs have called for enhancement of the Highland Main Line between Inverness and Perth, but Scottish Transport Secretary Fiona Hyslop did not commit to increasing capacity or electrification. The Scottish Government is dualling the parallel A9 road in stages, at a total estimated cost of £3.7bn.
