DfT stats reveals continued flatlining in road fatality and casualty levels

Road fatality and casualty levels in Great Britain have remained largely stagnant over the past decade, new data from the DfT shows. In 2024, road casualties showed a slight decline from 2023, with 1,602 fatalities, a drop of 1% compared  with 2023, while there were 29,467 killed or seriously injured (KSI) casualties, a decline of 1% compared with 2023.

This contrasts with the 4% drop in casualties of all severities (128,272) in 2024 compared with the previous year.
