West of England makes bus travel free for children during summer holidays

Children and young people were able to take free bus journeys in the West of England region during the summer holidays. The Kids Go Free scheme, funded by the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority, resulted in more than 650,000 free bus journeys during the first five weeks of the holidays.

Kids Go Free began on Saturday 19 July and ends on 5 September .

The combined authority used some of the £13. 5m of Bus Grant funding from the DfT to pay for the scheme.
