DfT rail operations report explains why LNER subsidy more than doubled

The Department for Transport has explained why subsidy for LNER more than doubled in 2024/25, instead of LNER moving back into premium as had been predicted in 2023.

The 2024/25 annual report of DfT Operator Ltd, formerly DfT OLR Holdings Ltd, shows that LNER received a service agreement subsidy of £89m, compared with £36m in 2023/24.
