The DfT is to review revenue protection legislation to ensure it is “as clear and effective as possible”, Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander has stated in an open letter to train operators. Alexander said she has accepted “in full” the Office of Rail and Road’s (ORR) review of train operators’ revenue protection practices. The rail industry must “ensure enforcement practices are consistent and transparent”, said the minister.
