Quality Bus Event programme unveiled

Quality Bus, a major event produced by the Bus Centre of Excellence and Landor LINKS, will bring together local authorities, operators, service providers and consultants to share best practice across the bus sector..

The conference, which will be held in Portsmouth on 23 and 24 September, will look at new opportunities for reviving – and creating – vital routes and services, and at the developing role of the BCoE.

Speakers will include Leon Daniels, Chair of the BCoE Advisory Board, Stephen Fidler, Director Buses & Inclusion at the DfT, Nicola Kane, Director, Steer and Stelios Rodoulis, Head of the BCoE.

Rose McArthur, Director - Transport, Highways, Infrastructure and Climate Change at Cheshire West and Chester Council, will offer an update on Bus franchising model pilots.

Future operating models for buses will be discussed by Stephen Hunter, Director of Transport, Warrington Borough Council while Lexa Wokersien, Marketing and Communications Manager, Portsmouth City Council will focus on plans to reposition park & ride.

During the two-day event there will be innovation showcases focusing on: training, skills, products, tools, services; routing, ticketing, payments and mapping.

The conference will also include a panel discussion with Carol Sim, Operations Director, Stagecoach South; Simon Goff, Managing Director, First Bus South; and Marc Reddy, Managing Director, Stagecoach South.
