The DfT has announced a “pause” on the roll-out of shared used bus boarders where the cycle track is between the kerb and bus shelter, meaning passengers board and alight directly into it.
The department said it is focusing on these floating bus stops as “research has found them to be the most problematic”.
Transport minister Simon Lightwood said the Government recognised that “more needs to be done to make these installations accessible to all”.
