FirstGroup is hoping to launch a new open access rail service which would go to London from Hereford via Cwmbran.
The plans would connect Hereford and London, with stops in South Wales, including Cwmbran, Pontypool & New Inn and Abergavenny, iand also call at Bristol Parkway and Severn Tunnel Junction if approved by the Office of Rail and Road (ORR). The service would operate alongside FirstGroup’s planned open access route to Carmarthen, set to launch in December 2027.
