Work on the southern section of the Spalding Western Relief Road scheme is set to be delayed until at least 2030 due to lack of funds, Lincolnshire County Council has said.
The £109.5m project aims to provide a new route around Spalding, bypassing the town centre easing traffic on the A16 route.
But the scheme has been put on hold following the council’s decision to reallocate nearly £28m to help offset increased costs for other road projects.
