Cambridgeshire and Peterborough’s Combined Authority Board has backed new mayor Paul Bristow’s proposal to a Fenland bus service which was set to be scrapped.

The Board approved funding for the March to Whittlesey section of the 33 service, after Stagecoach East announced it would stop running the section after 31 August. The villages of Eastrea and Coates were at risk of being cut off from Peterborough, with no public transport alternative, said Bristow.
