Surrey Heath Borough Council has approved plans to sell a car park as part of its efforts to reduce debt. The council said it is looking to sell any “discretionary ” assets that do not generate revenue.

The cabinet agreed to sell the 40-space free car park in Deepcut as well as land on London Road in Camberley. The council must shed £1.74m this year through savings, reduced interest payments and a further £500,0000 from “service delivery reviews”.
