Driverless cars on UK roads delayed until 2027 - but ready now, says Uber

Driverless cars will not be appearing on UK roads until at least 2027, a year later than expected, following the Government’s decision to delay the introduction of legislation for driverless vehicles. But the ride-hailing firm Uber said it is “ready to go now” with driverless taxis in the UK.

The previous Conservative government’s projection for driverless cars running on UK roads had been 2026.
