HS2 Ltd’s application for an underground chamber and ditch in Wendover, designed to manage groundwater on a stretch of the high-speed rail line, has been rejected by Buckinghamshire Council.
Planning officers at the council advised the plan should be approved, but the Strategic Sites Committee said the proposed access track would cause harm to the “sensitive and protected Chilterns National Landscape”.
