Public recognise benefits of devolved transport powers, Manchester study shows

Bus franchising, fare caps and integrated ticketing in Greater Manchester clearly demonstrate the benefits of devolution, according to Centre for Cities.

The completion of bus franchising at the start of this year and the start of ‘tap as you go’ with a fare cap means that Greater Manchester now offers a similar experience to using the Transport for London network, says the think tank.
