Evri, which claims to be the UK’s biggest dedicated parcel delivery company, is to trial use of autonomous robot delivery in Barnsley later this year.
Joining similar schemes such at that by Starship with the Co-op for automated grocery delivery, an Evri mechanical dog will work with a courier to deliver parcels in the trial.The four-legged robot will be able assist the courier by hopping in and out of the van as it makes its way to and from homes delivering parcels.
