Barriers to cycling have widened between men and women in the past seven years, according to YouGov research carried out for Cycling UK.
In the past seven years the level of concern to issues such as drivers overtaking too closely and exhibiting threatening behaviour has decreased by 5% for male cyclists but remained consistent for women.
A lack of physically segregated cycle lanes is going down as an issue for male cyclists but rising for females.
