Schools get 1,400 charging places

More than 1,400 electric vehicle charging sockets have been installed at UK schools and colleges with Government funding support via the Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS), which provides funding for chargepoints at flats, rental properties, schools, offices and workplaces. In addition to schools, the workplace charging scheme supported a further 6,500 sockets in workplace car parks in 2024. WCS funding during 2024 for these sockets amounted to £3m.
